It seems to have been forever since I put the
8 Shaft False Damask tea towel warp on the Louet Spring. These 8 x 36” towels were a real joy to weave, so very pretty and each and every one was my favourite at the time I wove it, very rewarding really! Each plaid area has differing colours, colour order and size sequences, but each started 3” from the bottom and 29” from the top. The bottom and the top are identical, but reversed. They really do have the look of a basket of Easter Eggs! The photos really don't do them justice, they are much brighter, but my camera has me for an operator - so you'll have to think them a bit brighter. I've gotta take a camera course!
Above are the two I wove with white weft.
Above are the two with pale blue weft.
Here are the two with lilac weft.
I only did one with peach weft; this weft is actually one shade lighter than the peach stripes in the warp.
The one with the yellow weft is for me – it’s bright and cheerful and will go so very nicely in my yellow and grey slate kitchen!
Now I have a question to all of you out there – I have 3.5 pounds of this 1/6 tow linen in my stash. Any ideas of what the heck I can do with it? I know it would not be very good rug warp because it is only 1 ply, but what can I make? I’ve considered sauna towels, but I’m really not sure if this is the right yarn for that…….help!

The towels are just so perfect for this time of year-woven smiles! The linen will be pretty-sorry I don't have any brilliant suggestions except to say, table runner?!

Regarding the linen- I made some placemats with some rather scratchy linen I couldn't figure out what else to do with. I really liked the way they came out. Here's a link if you want to look:

I only used the linen for warp (mine was plied) because I had a limited amount. Maybe you could switch it and use something else for warp, and this for weft?

I love your towels, I really get the feeling of spring when looking at them! The color combinations are very lovely.
You can use the tow linen for towels, of course. Or you can do other things, like table runners or tablets. Just now I weave table runners and I use some of my stash: cotton 8/2 as weft and either linen 16/2, double linen 16/1, tow linen 8, or tow 6. I like the uneven structure of the tow, it makes the fabric more lively.
Those towels are so pretty! As for the linen, no idea! I haven't woven with linen yet! Too scary! But soon.

Lynnette - the towels are lovely. I must try and work out a damask pattern now that I have the Fibreworks programme. The structure looks as if the towels will be really absorbent.
The spring colours are lovely and really give me a lift on a grey, wet day in south west Scotland !

and they use it for runners and sauna towels, sometimes in kitchen towels.
I am in love with those towels! I love the colors, the patterns, the stripes, everything. They are very happy towels and will brighten up anyone's kitchen.
As fo the linen yarn - what about as a warp for tapestry?
